Life Coaching
Life coaching is relational, conversational, problem solving. Coach and client develop a relationship of trust and openness, where the client can fully express, explore and expound upon both problems and solutions – in a judgement free, confidential and safe container that is the relationship itself.
The client’s job is to be fully present and committed to the process. The coach’s job is the same.
Coaching is different from therapy, mentorship or consulting. A good coach does not give advice or instruct. Coaches strive to ensure that the client is always free to make their own decisions, completely separate from the coach’s ideas or opinions. The client can take or leave anything the coach offers.
Coaches are however, are extrodinary listeners – bearing witness, offering observations, reflections, curiosity, and accountability.
Coaching’s main focus is moving forward – helping the client get to where they want to go, and the life they want to create.
My Personal Approach to Coaching:
My story informs my coaching in a significant way. Many coaches struggle with the practice of not giving advice. I do not. I wholeheartedly believe that you don’t need my advice. You know what you need and what you want. Maybe you could use a sounding board, someone to hold you accountable, someone to bounce ideas off of – someone to partner with you as you forward your own life and soul. I have the temperament, experience, and the skill set to do just that. I can partner with you as you forward you.
Tools I use:
- Life Coaching
- Spiritual Coaching
- The Emotion Code
- EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique/Tapping)
- Essential Oils (DoTerra Wellness Advocate)
About Blocks – I believe what we call “blocks”, are the beliefs, ideas, understanding, conditioning, etc. that keep us stuck in places we don’t want to be. We all have them, and as we heal they tend to surface. Often they’re protective – keeping us from risk, vulnerability, loss. Sometimes they’re an outdated belief about ourselves, the world, God, other people. They surface so they can be addressed. In coaching, there is no “failure”, there’s only more information. When a block makes itself known, we’ll address it address as quickly, or as gently as you need, in whatever way feels best to you. This is where my tool box proves to be worth its weight in gold.
Spiritual Coaching
Spiritual Coaching is much the same as Life Coaching, but offers an additional perspective – that of a Spiritual one. Bringing more awareness of the idea that we are Spiritual Beings having a Human experience.
Spiritual coaching offers additional techniques for moving through blocks, and asks different questions – taking into consideration your spiritual life. Investigating what might be going on ‘under the surface’ of situations and circumstances. Spiritual coaches bring a another level of curiosity into what lessons or benefits our challenges present us.
Not everyone is wired this way. That’s simple fact. And that’s welcome. If you are wired to consider your spirituality when addressing physical circumstances, I welcome it and would be happy to engage with you there.
